I hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy during this extended period of isolation. The health and safety of our members and patrons has been and will always be our top priority. Our cast, crew, and production team have put a lot of hard work into making this one of our best shows yet, and we want to give them and our patrons the opportunity to experience this fantastic production as it was intended. We are coordinating with our venues and look forward to announcing the show dates as soon as they have been finalized. Those individuals will be contacted individually to determine their preference. The Savoy Company is a non-profit arts organization and as such, we share the same challenges as other arts organizations. As you can imagine, we have already incurred expenses related to set work, costume construction, and other parts of the production.

As our name suggests we are based in Bournemouth, Dorset and perform at major venues across Dorset, including Lighthouse in Poole , the Regent Centre in Christchurch and the Barrington Theatre in Ferndown. There is something going on year round and we have regular social events too! Performing membership is open to anyone who passes an audition but we also welcome non-acting members to help behind the scenes with props, scenery construction and general administration. Gilbert & Sullivan
For nearly years, Gilbert and Sullivan have pervasively influenced popular culture in the English-speaking world. Well, hardly ever! The Savoy operas heavily influenced the course of the development of modern musical theatre.
Grief, outrage, and righteous anger are tearing across social media and pouring out onto the streets in cities all over our nation - including thousands of peaceful and relentless protestors here in Seattle. The wrongful deaths of Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and - in our own neighborhood - Manuel Ellis have shone an unflinching light onto the horrific patterns of police brutality towards the black or African American population, and they have been a spark that has ignited this monumental outcry across the country. But this is about so much more than police brutality. This is about the worth of a black persons life , about their hopes and dreams and love and family, down to the very breaths they take. This is about identifying and challenging and working to overcome the pervasive systemic racism that continues to infect us and cripple our society. This is about getting individuals and lawmakers and CEOs and police officers and artistic directors and stay-at-home parents and anyone watching the news or their Facebook feed to be able to utter - without hesitation, equivocation, or qualification - three short words: Black. If your response is to protest, yell loudly and stay safe. If it is to contact Mayor Durkan or Governor Inslee and demand oversight and transformation, write persuasively and from the heart. Every act, no matter how big or small it may seem, is a step forward. Or tomorrow.
